EDSA Rehabilitation Phase 1 to Start on December 24
The eight-month EDSA rehabilitation begins December 24 with 12 days of continuous work followed by night shifts. Public transit remains functional, but enterprises must prepare for temporary holiday traffic disruptions and lower localized foot traffic.
The long-delayed rehabilitation of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) is set to push through beginning December 24 and is targeted to be completed within eight months, in contrast to the initial plan of a two-year rehabilitation period. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials said that the new plan will pose minimal disruptions to both motorists and commuters. Government officials likewise affirmed that the EDSA Carousel buses and the MRT-3 will remain operational, and that EDSA itself will remain partially passable throughout the rehabilitation period.
