In June 2025, PSA Intelligence recorded 18 crimes targeting businesspersons and establishments. Additionally, a total of 17 incidents related to smuggling and counterfeit activities were reported during the same period.

PSA recorded 18 crimes against businesspersons and establishments in June 2025. Six of the incidents involved the murder of businesspersons in Quezon City, Cavite, Ilocos Sur, Bulacan, Albay, and Basilan. Meanwhile, four burglary incidents were recorded in Manila City, Pampanga, Cebu, and Sarangani.

During the period, one scam incident involving extortion was also recorded. The incident highlights some potential risks associated with the use of online delivery applications and underscores the growing need for increased vigilance and consumer protection in the expanding e-commerce sector.

In June 2025, the National Capital Region (NCR) accounted for the highest number of recorded incidents at six. These incidents took place in Manila City, Quezon City, and Makati City. Other incidents during the period were recorded in North and South Luzon (Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region), Central Visayas, and parts of Mindanao (Davao Region, Soccskksargen, and BARMM).

Meanwhile, 17 smuggling and counterfeit-related incidents were reported nationwide in June 2025. The reported illegal shipments and fake products that have entered the country and were intercepted this month amounted to PHP 661.3 million (USD 11.7 million).

This month's featured crime stories highlight two significant incidents: a shooting incident targeting a businessman in Makati City and a delivery scam by an online delivery service in Quezon City.
