Islamist Insurgency and Terrorism Report – March 2021
In March 2021, PSA Intelligence recorded 24 Islamist insurgency-related violent incidents.
Based on PSA Consultancy data, there were 24 Islamist-related violent incidents in the month of March 2021. The figure is 15 incidents higher than the nine violent incidents recorded in the previous month.
Most of the violent incidents recorded this month were attributed to the members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF). Out of the total number of violent incidents, 13 violent incidents were perpetrated by the BIFF, five violent incidents were attributed to members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), three violent incidents involved members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), and two violent incidents each were perpetrated by the Maute and unidentified lawless elements.
