In March 2020, PSA Intelligence recorded 30 Communist Insurgency-related violent incidents.
Based on initial PSA Consultancy data, there are 30 Communist insurgency violent incidents in the month of March 2020. PSA Consultancy recorded 34 violent incidents in the previous month.
PSA Consultancy notes that Communist violent incidents slightly decreased this month. Most of the NPA activities were typical in nature. Although the New People’s Army (NPA) celebrated their 51st founding anniversary on March 29, the initial number of violent incidents in March 2020 was four incidents less than the 34 incidents reported in the previous month. Analysts note that NPA units typically intensify their activities each year prior to the filing of their annual “accomplishment reports.” Rebel commands are known to accomplish certain quotas or organizational “accomplishments” prior to periodic assessment meetings during the NPA anniversary.
